Onboarding

Single page sites

We’ve seen in our testing and heard from our hosting partners that some users only need a simple, single-page WordPress site that lets them publish a website immediately. To serve these use cases we are introducing single-page websites.

Users can now select between single-page or multi-page website formats during the Launch onboarding process. This feature simplifies website creation for those who need a quick, streamlined solution. While single-page users will still select a site type, goals, and style, they will not need to select pages. A sticky header is automatically enabled to ensure a better user experience for single-page sites.

The “site structure” step shown above will alternate randomly for users between the “single-page website” option showing on the left or right. This is to enable us to collect high quality data about user preferences.

We will be closely monitoring usage of single-page sites and adjusting the experience accordingly based on what we see regarding user preferences and success metrics.

AI-powered recommended pages

Extendify AI now suggests pages for multi-page websites based on the user’s inputs during the Launch process. These intelligent recommendations ensure users build all the necessary pages quickly, streamlining the setup for success.

Users can still select the “view more pages” option below the page checklist to add pages other than those selected by Extendify AI.

AI-powered page recipes

In addition to AI-powered page recommendations, the sections included in each page are now personalized for each site. While Extendify has always connected site types to recommended page structure, this relationship was formulaic. Now, with the introduction of AI page “recipes”, Extendify AI can structure each page based on what is most relevant for the given site type and goals. These recommendations ensure that each page has the right sections based on the user’s specific needs.

This update also lays the foundation for upcoming enhancements that will further refine website customization, allowing users to generate sites tailored specifically to their industry needs, including site types that are not currently selectable during onboarding.

Integrated contact forms

We’ve launched a Product Integration Framework, which deeply integrates products that have been selected for users based on their goals. This reduces setup complexity, enabling users to launch their websites faster.

The first product integrated is WP Forms and pre-configured forms are built into contact and other pages. These forms will also be shown during onboarding page previews when Extendify AI includes contact forms in the pages it generates. These forms are pre-created by Extendify using native WP Forms functionality, meaning these forms are fully editable by users through the WP Forms plugin.

Going forward we will be supporting other products using this framework to make life easier for users whose site goals are best met through additional functionality on their websites.

Site Assistant

New welcome overview

To help users get the most out of your AI powered WordPress experience, we’ve added new welcome cards that highlight essential features, such as AI-powered editing tools, ensuring that users can easily leverage these capabilities. For new sites, these tasks help orient users around all of the Extendify-powered WordPress tools included with their site.

We have also increasingly seen our partners offer or install Extendify on existing WordPress sites. For these existing users, the new welcome tasks are more relevant than new site tasks typically served by the Site Assistant, and offer existing users a quick explanation of the new tools they have at their disposal.

AI domain recommendations

Site Assistant domain recommendations have been upgraded to provide even smarter, more relevant domain name recommendations based on the user’s specific site using AI-generated keywords. The Site Assistant will now use several data points to generate relevant keywords for each site, and pass those keywords to a domain spinning service to find available domain names, resulting in more relevant domain name recommendations

AI Assistant discoverability

We’ve enhanced the visibility of key AI editor elements to ensure users easily discover these AI tools. Based on usage patterns, we know that once users start engaging with these tools in the page or post editor, they integrate them into their regular workflow, gaining more value and streamlining their content creation and editing processes. We will continue exploring opportunities to contextually expose users to the AI assistant editing tools to reduce friction for users and enable you to more easily communicate the value of your AI WordPress experiences to your customers.
